April & May Updates

Butter Braid Pick-up – Mon, Apr 11, 3:30-4:00 PM

All fundraising orders will be available for pick-up in the band hallway after school. These items arrive frozen and MUST be picked up on time. There is no storage at school for your items. Please plan.


Lakeside Jazz Festival – Fri, Apr 22, Port Orange

Both Jazz Bands will be performing at Lakeside Jazz Festival in Port Orange. Jazz 1 performs at 2pm on the main stage. Jazz 2 performs at 3pm on the café stage. Students and volunteers will need to plan on a full day in Port Orange. More info will be made available or contact Mr. Allenson or Mrs. Pyburn with your questions. Spring Concert – Fri, May 6 at 7pm, UHS Auditorium

Our final concert of the school year - please plan to attend. Suggested donations at the door are $5 for individuals and $10 per family. Refreshments will be on sale before and after the event.


Parent & Student Meeting – Mon, May 9, UHS Cafeteria

This meeting will help guide you with information needed for next year’s band program. We will review the proposed calendar, vote for new Booster Board members, and review the financial obligations of the band. Please bring your school laptops or a hand-held device to access documents. Parents/families should attend with their student. Please pass the word on to any families with incoming band/guard freshman.


Band Banquet – Fri, May 13, Plaza Hotel, Daytona Beach

This is our end-of-year celebration of students and group successes. The directors and drum majors will be presenting awards. Your entry ticket will include dinner, dessert, photo booth, dancing, and party favor for students. The event is a semi-formal; however, students often dress in prom-style gowns and suits. Please plan to attend as a family. Tickets will go on sale in the next week or so. All band/guard fees must be paid in full to attend the banquet.
