Special Notes:
Thursday July 28th our schedule will be altered a little bit as we will be kicking off a fundraiser that day.
On August 2nd Tuesday we will have Sunshine Band Accessories out to fit students for marching band shoes (Dinkles). These are the students to keep and are not included in their fees as some students may have theirs from last year. All new members will need to be fitted and you have or will be billed our cost of $33.
During the 2nd week of camp we will also make available to the students discount cards to sell to help offset their band fees. This is extended as a courtesy to the students and their families to help with their individual costs and expenses.
How to prepare for Band Camp:
Hydrate the day before.
Avoid Sports drinks. (Sports drinks actually make you more dehydrated.)
Drink Water! Smart Water is good…or water with a little bit of lemon in it.
Have a good breakfast. Nothing too heavy but something substantial. Avoid donuts and sugary foods. Fruit, Granola, Oatmeal
Get Sleep! Do not stay up at night on social media until the wee hours of the morning…get some sleep.
Try and schedule appointments for other times. These two weeks are SOOOO important and should be your priority.
REMEMBER…it takes the same amount of energy to walk around and stand in line at Disney that it will for these hours during band camp. If you can do that, then you can do this. Performing, on the other hand, for 5 minutes at halftime is much more intense…but that is only once a week and for 5 minutes.
This is my 20th year teaching, and I absolutely love teaching students how to make music and art. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to teach your student! We will make wonderful memories and AMAZING things are literally waiting for this program…JUST YOU WAIT AND SEE!
Sincerely,
Jarrod Koskoski
Director of Bands
(Mr. K)
Note about drop off:
During band camp the front gate by the auditorium will be open until 8:05. If you arrive between 8:05 to 8:30 the students will have to walk (do not drive them) to the back door of the band room. If for some reason you arrive after 8:30 students will have to check in at the main office to be let into campus. This is a new protocol the school is asking that we all follow. Thank you everyone!
